ABOUT STEFANIE

Hi! I'm Stefanie. I am a therapist, writer, and researcher who lives and works on unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) territories.

I use an empowering, compassionate, & non-pathologizing approach that helps people recover their innate capacities for aliveness and connection.

I am guided by my commitment to the entwined efforts of individual healing and social change.

Therapy

What did you think, that joy was some slight thing?
— Mark Doty

The common view of therapy is that it's a place to unload and unpack the woes that plague you. Many of us are accustomed to thinking that joy is 'some slight thing', that our shadows are far more complex and compelling.

My experience as a therapist reveals to me the contrary: that people's resilience, hopes and dreams are far more sophisticated and worthy of examination than the underbellies of their so-called demons.

I am passionate about helping people reclaim joy; to find possibilities where they only see walls.

Testimonials

  • “I came to Stefanie telling her I felt there were parts of me that needed addressing but I didn’t know how to tap into them. She created a safe space and guided me through Internal Family Systems work which allowed me to heal in a way I didn’t think was possible for me. Stefanie provided guidance but empowered me to set the pace and direct our sessions together according to my needs and boundaries while fostering emotional safety. The Internal Family Systems work we did together felt like the most authentic and genuine type of therapy I have done and I’m truly grateful I had Stefanie to guide me through the process.”
